July 18, 2016 - Raymond Washington, Sherry DuPree, Kali Blount and Amil DuPree listened to historian Dale Cox, founder of TwoEgg Productions as we toured the area of the Negro Fort. On July 18, 1816, over 1,500 inhabitants of Negroes and Indians who lived at this Spanish fort were bombed and killed by American gunboats. July 18, 2016 was The Bicentennial Anniverary of the Destruction of the Negro Fort.
